Embrace innovative printing techniques this year.

2023 is looking good—and we’ve been keeping a close eye on what’s trending in the print world. Right off the top, we see the print trends starting to change and take on new creative approaches. Along with these changes, we’re also seeing a lot of growth. We’re here to help you take some of these print trends and apply them to your products.

Trend #1: Connecting with Customers

As we start 2023, one of the biggest shifts we’ve noticed is the increase in mission statements, company values, and welcoming messages on both labels and packaging. This can be attributed to businesses really wanting to show their customers what they’re all about; in turn, creating longer lasting connections and impressions with those customers. This can pay off in more ways than one for your business—showcasing that your business has real values, connecting with a wider audience through more engaging messaging, and getting customers that relate more to your message and continue to purchase your products. So, think about it. If you could put more impactful messaging on your labels about your mission or values, what would it say?

Trend #2: QR Codes

We cannot emphasize this one enough. QR codes are a great way to connect your customers with landing pages, deals and offers, contests, and your social media accounts. Adding a QR code is simple! They can be created on a variety of online applications, or we can curate one for you. QR codes do not take up significant space and are easily applied to any of your print designs! Think about it this way—when a customer finds your product at the store, you want to give them other options to interact with your business. Even if they end up not buying your product, at least you still have a chance of getting them to visit you online through the QR code.

Print trends of 2023

Trend #3: Flexographic Printing

This has always been a popular way to print products, but recent innovations have really moved this type of printing into the limelight. The flexo printing process is known for its high-quality and high-volume printing capabilities; additionally, for its ability to print on a variety of materials. It can be an eye-catching and clean way to get your labeling and information and seems to be catching on for many industries. The initial process involves creating plates and oftentimes dies that will be used for the print runs. The real perk of flexographic printing is that it is very useful for printing large runs of products, typically 50,000 or more. Either way, it is still becoming more popular for products that consistently print and consistently new print runs.

Trend #4: Personalization & Eco-Friendly Directives

Business growth and expansion is always awesome to experience. However, as your products expand and grow, and you create new product lines—we encourage you to consider personalizing your labels to match your intended audience and include any eco-friendly practices you follow.

A simple patch, logo, or design can easily personalize and communicate your sustainability. Also, as you grow your business, consider creating new labels for new products. This can give your business an edge (and an update) while connecting your new products to your customers. This customization of products can also expand into the holiday season. This is one of the oldest and most effective trends in printing. By creating festive-specific packaging, you can increase sales and be a part of the holiday spirit with your customers.
