Our timeline

1968: An Idea Brought To Life
Labels by Pulizzi was established by Joseph V. Pulizzi Sr. and Charline M. Pulizzi. The business started out of their garage with the purchase of a Mark Andy press and homemade label counter.

1969: The Love For Printing
Joseph’s sons, Joseph Jr. and Mark, took an interest in the company at a young age. At this time they started getting involved, asking questions, and helping as they could with the family business. It isn’t until later in life that they both take on integral roles within the company.

1977: Much Needed Growth
As the company grew, Labels by Pulizzi made two significant purchases. First was a rather run-down printing company called ‘Business Men’s Press’. This business was merged with Labels by Pulizzi to allow the Company to expand to include letterpress and offset printed items in addition to pressure-sensitive labels. Older equipment was updated, and employees were added to operate the new machinery.
The second purchase in 1977 was a new building. Labels by Pulizzi acquired the former Clark and Hoag building, a tire and garage center. After two years of remodeling inside and out, the Labels by Pulizzi location was complete. The company was now capable of meeting customers’ printing needs by either offset or flexographic methods. Combining a wholly integrated prepress department, a responsive sales team, and quick turnaround time, Labels by Pulizzi set the standard for an exceptionally high-quality product.

1979: New Leadership
Joseph Pulizzi Sr. passed away unexpectedly. At this time, Charline became the President, and her son, Joseph Jr., became the Vice President. Joseph Jr. had become a production expert - his knowledge of the machinery and capabilities were invaluable. Mark took the lead with their customers and ensured quality service and products, building lasting relationships for years to come. With their leadership, Labels by Pulizzi continued to flourish and become one of the state’s leading medium-sized printing companies.

1990: Endurance Through Tragedy
Devastation struck in January when a fire destroyed the Labels by Pulizzi building and everything in it. Dedication to family, employees, and customers was a driving force to continue the thriving business. Temporarily, the business ran out of a garage and an apartment using old rebuilt printing equipment. Faithful family and employees worked long hours to continue uninterrupted service to loyal customers.

1991: Start Anew
A completely new building was erected at the current location of Labels by Pulizzi in Logue Industrial Complex in Williamsport’s west end. The building expanded twice to the current size of thirty thousand square feet.

2021: Proudly Still Serving You Today
Charline and her sons, Joseph Jr., and Mark have operated the family business for over 50 years. After many years of success, the time came to sell to the next generation - Vincent and Selina Pulizzi. Under their guidance, Labels by Pulizzi will continue to grow, adapt, and flourish for many years to come.
